Earth Day Party!
April 22nd is Earth Day and it is all about saving the Earth
by recycling, reusing and reducing. You can show your love
and respect for our planet by holding a great party using
wonderful earth friendly ideas.
Do you still have some of last year’s Christmas Cards
around? You can reuse the front of the card to make new
invitation to your Earth Day party. A lot of those cards
have the environment on them in the form of evergreens,
mountains and snow.
Ask your guests to bring a recyclable item to your party as
the “ticket” to get in. Have a bin clearly marked with
glass, plastic, paper and so one so they can deposit their
“ticket” as they enter the party. Bring out your plates,
glassware and silverware. It doesn’t matter if they
match…it’s all about reducing the amount of trash because
you are not using plastic or paper plates!
Use potted plants for decorations and give seedlings or seed
packets to the guests as a favor. And I have suggested
using beeswax candles in the past. They burn cleaner and
they are natural. Try to serve fresh fruits and vegetables
and try to serve organic, free range and pest free foods.
You might even serve up some vegetarian dishes.
Bringing awareness to the environment and the small
steps we can take to make a difference is a great excuse for
a party!
